S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) Unplugged is geared towards kids aged 7-11. In this program, we exercise our minds in STEAM related activities and challenges outside of a computer screen. Here are some examples of the activities we've done:
- Marble Mazes: Engineering focus. Create mazes from cardboard boxes and other supplies. Involves planning, problem solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills. - Color Magic: Science/Math focus. Learn about surface tension, dissolving sugar, and patters by completing different activities. - Cup Castles: Engineering focus. Work together to build a castle out of solo cups. Involves teamwork, attention to detail, and critical thinking. - Negative Art: Art focus. Learn about positive space and negative space within artwork. Create your own art "backwards" by using the negative space as the focal point. - Balloon Rockets: Science focus. Blast off by making your own balloon rockets. Test them out by shooting them along string of different lengths and angles. - The Floor is Lava Challenge: Engineering/Math focus. Problem solve by saving toy bears from lava, using only the materials provided. - and many more! |
